A blast from the past

There’s a very good chance that this post will mean nothing to anyone but me, but screw it. This is my blog.
Even though it’s been out of business for 7 years, apparently there is somebody out there who was wondering about my family’s old business.
You see, I was going through the OCD-like ritual of checking my web stats today, and decided to have a peek at my subdomain stats. Oddly enough, it seems that somebody ran across my site while searching for the term ‘Palomino Room Restaurant Sacramento CA’. Kudos to you good sir or ma’am. It’s nice to know that all this time later, the 41 years that the restaurant was open haven’t faded out of peoples minds just yet.
Needless to say, I do miss the place. I mean,(cue photo montage and Streisand music) I took my first steps in the Gold Room (dining room off the main dining area, for those wondering). I was even photographed many times playing air-guitar on the bar-top in my oh so rockstar-like diapers and long locks of hair, looking like the poster child for childhood stars gone wrong. I loved that place.
It’s always great to have a restaurant in your back pocket as you’re growing up. High school homecomings & proms became incredibly cost effective. Occasionally I wouldn’t even mention my connection to it and sit back and laugh inside as customers, staff, etc all knew my name. Leaving my date to think I was the Donald Trump of the school…
That’s right sweetheart, you’re with a celebrity…
Ah, those were the days, and I do miss the place. Seeing that name pop up in my search just kinda brought me back…..
