Almost over……

The move is winding down.
I wonder why I waited until the last few weeks to do it all, even though I knew that I was moving all the way back in September? Procrastination at it’s finest, I suppose. One more day, two or 3 more trips and all will be completed. Then it will be back to business as usual, which is a good thing. Of course, I’ll still have the joy of unpacking, but there’s much less to that than packing. It’s amazing to see the outcome of packing up all your stuff and placing it in the garage. You realize just how much crap you have. You also realize that a good amount of it is probably stuff you can live without, but can’t get rid of. Why do I need an Oakland A’s clock that I’ve never hung up on the wall? I don’t, know but it’s stayed with me through two moves. Why do I need a dry-erase board with things that were written on it 13 years ago? I don’t know, but it’s in a box in the garage (the same box it’s been in through 4 moves). Hell why do I need anything in that box? I don’t know, but I know I can’t get rid of it, no matter how hard I try.
Maybe I think that when I hit the ripe old age of 70, I’ll have some laughs and chuckles looking back at what I was like and what I was interested in way back when. Who knows? One thing I do know is, that I was able to throw out two big black bags of trash, with one more to follow. I also know that when things get unpacked, I’ll be matching up what Katherine has, what I have, and then I’m sure I’ll consolidate my stuff a little bit more.
Then it’s back to accumulating more things that I’ll have a tough time getting rid of in the future after they’ve run their course.
